DANCE AT MEGARON

Co-production
Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall
Griffón Dance Company

With the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports (2018-19)

Ioanna Portolou and the Griffón Dance Company premiere their new choreography under the title Elizabeth at the Athens Concert Hall. In a subversive and playful manner, dwelling upon the anatomy of human psychology, the choreographer studies the mechanisms of the creation of meaning for the world around us, drawing inspiration from an emblematic historical figure, Queen Elizabeth I. ‘Are we ever free of meaning? Or are we constantly radiating it from the moment that we are born?’ This performance, staged with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports (2018-19), is the outcome of a process during which interscientific and intersectoral research is encouraged by the choreographer and the dance group.
