BOLSHOI THEATRE EXHIBITION

in collaboration with the Athens Concert Hall and The Bolshoi Theatre Museum

The Bolshoi Theatre, on whose stage the world’s finest artists shone bright, is now bringing some of its glow to the Athens Concert Hall with the exhibition titled “The Magical World of the Bolshoi Theatre”.

The Bolshoi Theatre was established as an institution in 1776 and has staged the premieres of the works of eminent artists who both defined and influenced the international art scene. For the first time in its history The Bolshoi Theatre Museum presents the costumes worn by great artists, scenery maquettes, items used in performances and many others. Members of the public will have the chance to enjoy up close these unique and stunning exhibits, among others, the costume of Maya Plisetskaya in “Anna Karenina”, or the ballet shoes worn by Ekaterina Maximova in “The nutcracker”, bearing the legendary dancer’s autograph.
The exhibition, organized by the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports in collaboration with The Athens Concert Hall and The Bolshoi Theatre Museum, is a part of the events dedicated to Greece’s cultural exchange year with Russia, 2016.

The official opening will take place on 19 December. The exhibition will be opening its doors for the public on December 20th and will go on until February 12th

24 & 31 December & 1, 2, 3 & 6 January
