MEGARON PLUS
The Hellenic Ministry of Culture & Sports, within the framework of the Greek Presidency of the Council of the EU (first semester of 2014), is organizing the conference «Financing Creativity».
The main objective of the Conference is to highlight the new prevailing practices in the cultural and creative sectors in Europe. It aims to provide information on the growing importance of the creative economy, the promotion of innovation, the role of the cultural and creative industries (CCIs) for economic growth and social cohesion. It also aims to familiarize with the existing tools and expertise that can facilitate startups and access to finance for the CCIs, to highlight the importance of cultural tourism and regional development and the new opportunities that are opening up for employment growth, especially for young people.
Amongst the speakers of the Conference is the Commissioner of the EU for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, high level officials from the European Commission, representatives of European Cultural Institutions, members of the Greek and international academic society, experts and professionals of the cultural and creative sector.
