This commemorative concert is a very special and emotionally charged event: In the person of Christos Lambrakis, the man identified with Megaron’s establishment and flourish, two components come together in this extraordinary concert, as it is well-known that in the three decades of Megaron’s existence, his passion for opera was a constant source of inspiration and a driver of creativity. Honouring Christos Lambrakis’ ties to lyrical song, leading soprano Marlis Petersen returns to the stage of the Megaron hall that has been named after him, to sing old Italian arias and excerpts from Handel’s operas as well as Mozart’ s works, whose impressive virtuosity and melodic elegance never cease to fascinate us. Her companions on this journey are internationally acclaimed pianist Mattias Lademann and the Musicians of Camerata-Orchestra of The Friends of Music (an ensemble founded in 1991, at the initiative of Christos Lambrakis, also known as Armonia Atenea), under the baton of Markellos Chryssicos.

Arias from the operas Judas Maccabaeus and Alcina by G.F. Haendel, together with songs and old Italian arias and other concert arias and songs for voice and piano by W.A. Mozart and other composers.
