Musical intersections: Driven by their love of music of many different styles, two accomplished pianists join their distinct personalities in a crossover programme with works and transcriptions by Keith Jarrett, R.R. Bennet, Ch. Papageorgiou, Claude Bolling and A. Pappas, which combines the artistic classical style with improvisation and with the most popular musical genres such as jazz, musicals, rock, pop – and beyond.
In the first part, Christos Papageorgiou and Anastasios Pappas perform compositions for two pianos as well as for solo piano (Heartland and Prayer and Improvisation in the name of K.J.), while in the second part they are joined on stage by bassist Fergus Currie and drummer Serafeim Bellos, to perform, for the first time in Greece, the Second Sonata for two pianos in classical and jazz style of the famous French composer Claude Bolling, as well as George Gerswhin’s enchanting The Man I Love.
