It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play
(adapted for the stage by Joe Landry)

The American cinema’s all-time favourite film Its a Wonderful Life, which was directed by Frank Capra in 1946 and became a Christmas classic, is presented in an inventive adaptation for the stage by Joe Landry.

The Alexandra Trianti Hall is transformed into a live radio-and-television studio of the 1940s. The film’s story –a hymn to solidarity and self-denial– comes to life with a cast of well-known and beloved actors, who play all the roles, sing, change voices and, with the help of training by a sound effects specialist, produce various sounds. A jazz orchestra transports us to an era which, coming out of the War, was celebrating the joy of life, and was looking at the future with optimism.
