Mare Nostrum is our Mediterranean, the sea that gave birth to ancient civilizations and witnessed conflicts and wars, but also splendid days of spiritual and cultural glory. A sea with twenty-three different faces, which gave birth to music and to melodies sprayed with its salt, grafted with the anticipation of love and reunion, with the colours of joy and celebrations, but also of homesickness, wandering, emigration and living in foreign lands. Our ship sails and sets course for the historic ports of the Mediterranean –Alexandria and Gibraltar, Suez and Marseille, Naples, Genoa, the Bosphorus, Haifa, Piraeus and so many others– homes to unexpectedly familiar melodies that unite us and move us, as we recognise them because they touch in us, in the depths of our soul, our common origin – our sea, the Mediterranean.
