The French sisters Labèque are undoubtedly the world’s top piano duet for nearly half a century. They move with amazing ease between the classical, romantic and contemporary repertoire, including jazz or baroque music. Their recordings have always been a milestone for the works they perform, while many great composers were inspired by their playing and wrote works for them. Their concerts always turn out to be exciting, thanks to their sparkling and graceful playing, but also thanks to the special way in which their very different pianistic idiosyncrasies complement each other, producing a homogeneous result.
