Megaron-The Athens Concert Hall has been selected by Sony Classical for the recording of Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Ninth Symphony” with the award-winning Teodor Currentzis and MusicAeterna.

The sound recording of Beethoven’s iconic work will take place in the Christos Lambrakis Hall, a concert hall of exceptional acoustics, well-equipped for the realization of such a demanding musical project. This concert Hall will be transformed to a studio for a whole week prior to the concerts, and the recording will be carried out by a crew of the well-known record company, which is coming to Greece especially for this project, on the occasion of the two concerts of the leading Greek conductor and the MusicAeterna Orchestra and Choir on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 February (8:30 pm) at Megaron.

The masterful vocal parts in the Ninth are performed by four distinguished soloists.

Two landmark concerts in the history of the Megaron. A fascinating reference recording.
