Dimitris Mathiopoulos was born in Athens. He started violin lessons at the Athenaeum Conservatory of Athens with A. Chalapsis and in 2014 he received a diploma with the highest distinction from the Hellenic Ministry of Culture. As a violinist and violist, he has participated in theatrical performances and musicals such as Fiddler on the Roof, Nine, the Musical, La La Land in Concert etc. In 2018, he started composing music on a regular basis under the guidance of A. Dionatos. In 2020, he obtained a postgraduate degree from the Ionian University of Greece, having successfully completed the postgraduate programme “Composition for Film, Theatre and the Performing Arts”. He has composed original music for the award-winning animated short film The Wheel (16th Athens Animfest). He also holds a Mathematics degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
