Since its establishment in 1981, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe has collaborated with maestros such as Claudio Abbado, Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Bernard Haitink, while its recordings have won two Grammy awards, among other distinctions. For their part, Maestro Sir Antonio Pappano and violinist Janine Jansen are two of the most prominent artists on the international music scene, with the “magical” ability to bring novel aspects into the intepretations of the works that they perform. The presence on the stage of all these elements together is expected to be nothing short of explosive, given that the evening’s programme includes kaleidoscopic works such as Prokofiev’s First Violin Concerto and Kodály’s Dances of Galánta.
