American saxophonist Joshua Redman, one of the most prominent and charismatic virtuosos of the international jazz scene, presents his latest recording, titled Where Are We. It is an album of songs that reference specific places in America, awakening our thoughts on the meaning of power and the importance of love, through imaginative ballads and improvisations. The Where Are We project, an anthem and at the same time an apt social critique of America, brings together musicians who showcase Redman’s vision at its best. In his first collaboration with vocalist Gabrielle Cavassa, he is joined by pianist Paul Cornish, bassist Philip Norris and drummer Nazir Ebo. The interaction of these great musicians on stage creates an effortless flow of melodies and expressive improvisations.
