George Banos, who has stood out for his excellent violin performance ever since he was a child, is today considered one of the strongest up-and-coming soloists of the new generation. His aspiration to take on highly virtuosic, towering works of the French violin literature, such as Ysaÿe’s Ballade, Chausson’s Poem and Ravel’s Tzigane, is not only a natural step in his artistic development but is also welcomed by the public, which believes in his potential and thinks highly of him. Joined on the stage by the dynamic and accomplished pianist Leto Thomou, the two of them will also unravel the dramatic narrative of Franck’s Sonata, perhaps the most imposing work for violin and piano of 19th century French classical music.
