The great pianist and conductor Sir Andras Schiff himself selected the members of Cappella Andrea Barca, with the aim of forming an ensemble of rare versatility and high aesthetics, composed of versatile musicians equally committed to soloist, chamber and symphonic music. Since 1999, the ensemble has made many successful performances in major halls and festivals in Europe and America under his wise guidance. Both as a soloist and as principal conductor, Schiff has gifted world audiences with profound interpretations of benchmark performances of the classical repertoire. He has developed a lifelong relationship with Mozart’s work in particular, a fact reflected in the programme of his highly anticipated concert at the Megaron.
