Since its foundation in 1937, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France has been recognised as one of the greatest European orchestras, always distinguished for the high quality of its performances and the eclecticism of its repertoire. The Finnish conductor Mikko Franck has been the Music Director of this historic Orchestra since 2015. He has left his mark on the Philharmonic’s interpretive approaches and he will prove this again, this time before an Athenian audience, to whom he will propose a French and a Russian programme of emblematic works by great composers from both countries. He will be joined by two prominent figures on the international music scene, French cellist Gautier Capuçon (replacing pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet) and Norwegian violinist Vilde Frang in the captivating concertos by Ravel and Shostakovich respectively.
