A two-part tribute to the one hundred and more songs of Yorgos Kouroupos, a corpus impressive in volume and weight, in poetry by Elytis and Solomos, Sappho and Archilochus, Embiricos and Lorca. With his rare melodic gift, the composer leans with devotion on the verse, feels its folds one by one and lets the secret aroma and the magical essence of poetry emerge. The vocal line and the piano accompaniment, in an indissoluble complex, follow the word in its slightest shades of light. The result is a collection of small masterpieces, an important contribution by Kouroupos to the world literature of the lied and, at the same time, a true jewel for Greek music. A permanent collaborator of Kouroupos for years, soprano Artemis Bogri takes the baton in the second part of the tribute, performing three large cycles for female voice, Ten and One Nights, Ten Pictures and a Girl , and Variations of Female Loneliness.
