The internationally renowned baritone Dimitris Tiliakos and the charismatic pianist Nefeli Moussoura, who has emerged as a leading soloist in recent years, meet on stage to perform masterpieces of lyrical art. The poetry and traditions of German Romanticism that favoured the birth of the lieder are inspired by the fairy tales and myths of the Middle Ages and intertwine with the unearthly and the dreamlike. In the dense and shadowy forests of Germany, the traveller wanders as a stranger, and nature becomes the metaphysical mirror of the human soul struggling to unite with itself. Planetary heroes, tender lovers wrapped in silence, ideal loves sometimes celebrated in the light and sometimes crushed in the depths of futility, the whole spectrum of romantic themes is projected through the songs of the programme, composing a supremely dreamlike environment.
