Dance as an artistic expression may as a rule need the help of music to exist, but there are many times when music is inspired by dance, and this is exactly what the programme of this “colourful” concert, signed by virtuoso violinist Édua Zádory and internationally distinguished pianist Alexandra Nomidou, explores. In such a musical and dance kaleidoscope as the second part of the concert, the frenetic Hungarian chardas may well coexist with Piazzolla’s tango and the Devil’s Dance from the Witches of Eastwick. Music made to arouse the excitement of listeners seductively frames César Franck’s sublime Sonata in A major, perhaps the most popular sonata of the Romantic era and a cornerstone of the violin and piano repertoire.
