We are in India. The temple priestess and dancer Nikilla falls in love with the noble warrior Solor, with whom they exchange vows of eternal love. When the maharaja and his daughter Gamzatti discover this, hidden desires and passions rise to the surface, sparking murderous intrigue. Bayadère, set to music by Ludwig Minkus, is a story about eternal love, hatred, death and ultimately fate. Stunning sets and costumes, and the iconic “Kingdom of Shadows” scene, illuminate the tragic story of the priestess and the brave warrior to their ultimate redemption.
