It is with regret that, Jean-Yves Thibaudet is unable to travel and must withdraw from his performance with the OPRF and Mikko Franck on Tuesday evening. The Orchestra is grateful to cellist Gautier Capucon for stepping in at Megaron the Athens Concert Hall at such short notice. the French Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and Mikko Franck, with Gautier Capuçon, will be performing Camille Saint-Saëns’ Concerto No 1 for Cello and Orchestra in A minor, op. 33.

The multi-award-winning cello virtuoso Gautier Capuçon, who appeared at the Megaron in April 2022 as part of the Spring Festival, is particularly popular with Greek audiences. He is considered a true 21st century ambassador for the cello. He is renowned for his expressiveness, musicality, impressive technique and the deep sound of the cello “L’Ambassadeur”-Matteo Goffriller (1701), with which he plays. Performing internationally with many of the world’s leading conductors and international soloists around the world, he is also deeply committed to educating and supporting young musicians from all backgrounds.
