Mezzo-soprano Daphne Evangelatos was a rare personality who, in tandem with her international artistic career, enlightened with her knowledge and pedagogical talent, as a professor and vice-rector of the Munich Academy of Music, the new generations of lyrical artists. On the initiative of the Maria Callas Scholarships Association, of which she was a distinguished member, internationally acclaimed soloists who had been her students are reunited, a few months after her sudden loss, to pay tribute to their beloved teacher. Under the musical guidance of Dimitris Yakas, who also had a relationship of mutual appreciation and friendship with Daphne Evangelatos, the soloists will perform works of which their teacher was particularly fond. The artists are appearing pro bono, in the hope that this tribute will be a musical experience for all, bridging the perceptible with the invisible, and the past with the present and the future of lyrical creation.
