In the framework of the “Art Campus” educational programme of The Friends of Music Society, 37 young musicians from all over Greece (playing strings, winds and the piano) were hosted this year (from 11 to 28 July) at the Perrotis College of the American Farm School in Thessaloniki, where they participated in chamber music ensembles and attended the classes held by the acclaim soloists and music teachers Dimos Goudaroulis (cello), Titos Gouvelis (piano), Yannis Korbetis (violin), Antonis Manias (viola), Spyros Mourikis (clarinet) and Theodore Tzovanakis (piano). The ensembles will give concerts in Athens and Thessaloniki. The “Art Campus” programme was established ten years ago and is offered free of charges thanks to the kind sponsorship of Mrs Fotini Livanou. For the educational planning of this year’s activities, which were supported by the American Farm School of Thessaloniki, The Friends of Music Society collaborated with the two historical and oldest music educational institutions of the country, the Athens Conservatoire and the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki.
