“MODULATIONS” CYCLE

Gluck’s operatic masterpiece, based on a libretto by Pietro Metastasio, is presented in an exciting new production by the imaginative British director Nigel Lowery, conducted by the award-winning George Petrou. Il trionfo di Clelia was inspired by the legendary pages of Roman history and is a tribute to a woman’s love and heroism.

Il trionfo di Clelia (The Triumph of Clelia) is a co-production by  “Et in Arcadia Ego” and the Athens Concert Hall Organization, staged with support from the European Union cultural Program in association with “Tutti All’ Opera” (TAO) and the City of London Sinfonia.
The staging is based on a new, critical edition of the Bologna manuscript, produced especially for the needs of this first revival of the opera at the Athens Concert Hall.
In June 2012 the production will be staged at the Linbury Studio, Covent Garden.

The Athens Camerata-the Friends of Music Orchestra has made the first ever recording of the work for the German MDG company. Its international release is scheduled for January 2012.
