The leading piano virtuoso Cyprien Katsaris stands out for the ease with which he moves both in the grandiose, demanding and virtuosic works of the repertoire and in the smaller forms that focus on subtle melodicism and lyricism. In his long artistic career, Katsaris has a habit of surprising audiences by performing rarely heard works, demonstrating the vast breadth of his repertoire, his genuine artistic courage and his boundless imagination. The rich programme he will present at Megaron includes characteristic works by the greatest representatives of the classical and romantic periods – spearheaded by Liszt’s brilliant Fantasia on motifs from Beethoven’s Ruins of Athens – as well as works by great Greek composers. Hand-picking rare miniatures from Nikolaos Mantzaros and Rena Kyriakou to G.A. Papaioannou and the Cypriot F. Kavallaris, Katsaris is expected to make a fascinating statement of his art in Greek pianistic creation,  a worthy experience for any music lover.
