This year, Italian violinist Domenico Nordio, widely recognised as one of the top virtuosos of his generation, celebrates thirty-five years of a successful career, counting over two thousand concerts in ninety-three countries on all five continents. His partner on the piano, Orazio Sciortino, is also regularly collaborating with major musical organisations around the world, both as a pianist and as a composer. The programme of their recital caters to all tastes:  Romanticism enthusiasts will revel in the most lyrical of Brahms’ violin sonatas, modernists will surrender themselves to the wild beauty of Prokofiev’s Sonata, while those preferring the composed clarity of 18th-century music will discover a stunning work by Dallapiccolla, which pays tribute to the style of the late Baroque composer and violinist Giuseppe Tartini.
