The Ballet of the Odessa National Opera presents Giselle, to music by Adolf Adam. A work of sweeping emotions, with ideal openings for sweeping choreographies that are highly demanding of the performers, Giselle is a favourite heroine of every ballerina. At the same time, it is perhaps the only ballet of the romantic period that has survived to this day without losing one bit of its force. It is not by chance that it is one of the most famous and widely popular ballets in the history of dance. The full title of the work, written in 1841, is Giselle ou les Wilis (Giselle, or the Wilis) and is a hymn to pure and eternal love.
