Pure Art
A dramatic oratorio representing the last days of Jesus and the Passion as told in the Gospel of John. Bach’s masterpiece speaks directly to the human soul, connecting the earthly and the Divine in a truly unique manner. The Passio secundum Johannem was first performed on April 7, 1724, and is today part of the world’s cultural heritage. The Orchestra’s period instruments promise a unique spiritual experience, and a musical journey in time to the authentic timbres of the Baroque era.
