Nicola Piovani’s sensitive and optimistic world unfolds through his compositions and his songs, to Lina Nikolakopoulou’s Greek lyrics, ideally interpreted by Thodoris Voutsikakis.
The great melodist began to compose upon encouragement from his orchestration teacher Manos Hadjidakis, and has over 130 film scores to his credit. He has collaborated with such directors as Paolo and Vittorio Taviani, Giuseppe Tornatore, and Roberto Benigni (1999 Best Music Academy Award for La Vita è Bella), as well as Federico Fellini in his last three films.
