As a young girl, she secretly read the Psalter and clandestinely entered into the taverns of her neighbourhood; as a teenager, she blossomed with a persistent longing at the side of Simon Karas; as a mature woman, she tirelessly toured the Greek villages time and again, greedily absorbing the wealth of tradition from the most authentic mouths, the most authentic instrument players.
