Mozart Boys Choir Vienna was founded in 1956, in order to ensure that talented children with exceptional vocal abilities can devote themselves to the choral art, while continuing to live with their families and attend to the school of their choice (unlike the members of the Vienna Boys’ Choir). The four-tone Choir is composed of boys whose ages range from eight to twenty-one years old and has a rich repertoire of classical and contemporary choral works. Their director since 1994 is the Austrian professor of vocal art Peter Lang. The programme of their Christmas concert for 2022 features well-known works by composers such as Purcell, Mozart, Diabelli and Franck, as well as traditional Christmas songs from Austria, England, Latin America – including our very own Christmas carol “Kalín espéran árxontes” (“Good evening, Lords”)!
