THEATRE AT MEGARON – NT LIVE

In collaboration with the British Embassy & the British Council in Athens

Pre-recorded broadcast from the Noël Coward Theatre

With English subtitles

Gillian Anderson (X-Files, The Fall, NT Live: A Streetcar Named Desire) and Lily James (Downton Abbey, Mamma Mia!, Here We Go Again) lead in the theatrical adaptation of Mankiewicz’s masterpiece All About Eve, staged at the West End in London. Ivo van Hove, one of the world’s most innovative theatre directors (Network, NT Live: A View from the Bridge), gradually reveals a world of fierce antagonism, jealousy, and ambition, at the same time posing the question why our fascination with celebrity and youth remains so strong. Adapted by Ivo van Hove from the 1950 Twentieth Century Fox film by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, and the play The Wisdom of Eve by Mary Orr. Set and lighting design by Jan Versweyveld, costume design by An D’Huys, music by P. J. Harvey, and sound design by Tom Gibbons.

Middle-aged Margo Channing is an absolute star of the theatre, always in the spotlight. And suddenly Eve, her greatest fan, enters her life. Young, beautiful Eve, the golden girl, the girl next door. Do we really know all about Eve?
