The recent establishment of the New Cretan Quartet is one of the most promising events in the greek music scene. Its members are four young musicians with remarkable individual achievements, who studied music in Crete. In the arid landscape of our country, where string quartets are rare, any new effort in this direction deserves our wholehearted support.  Megaron the Athens Concert Hall, with confidence and a sense of responsibility, gives the New Cretan Quartet, which has already developed a remarkable concert activity, the opportunity to introduce itself to Athenian audiences through two epic masterpieces of the relevant repertoire, the Shostakovich Quartet No. 4 and the Beethoven Quartet No. 7.
