The three-day “Piano City Athens festival” turns the city into an improvised concert hall and brings the sound of the piano to the most unlikely places: parks, squares, streets, public transport stations, department stores, private homes… In the festival’s showcase concert event, legendary virtuoso Ivo Pogorelich performs in his own unique way the Second concerto by the “poet of the piano” Frédéric Chopin. The much sought-after French maestro Philippe Auguin conducts one of the most emblematic and enduring works of the Romantic repertoire, the Fantastic Symphony by Berlioz.
