In the spirit of the Holy Week and the Passion of Christ, this year’s Easter concert focuses on the element of tragedy. Under the baton of acclaimed maestro Myron Michailidis, prominent lyrical artists offer a consummate and inspired reading of famous works by Brahms, Wagner and Mozart, bringing out the agonising gestures, the passionate melodies and the explosive conflicts in them. The high point of the programme is Mozart’s soul-stirring Requiem, the swansong of the great Austrian composer, who in the short span of his life produced works of profound and inestimable value.
