“RCO meets Europe / Side by Side”
The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra is performing the Overture of Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg side by side with the Megaro Youth Symphony Orchestra – MOUSA.
MOUSA was founded by Thessaloniki Concert Hall with the support of Stavros Niarchos Foundation in March 2015.

“RCO meets Europe”
Starting in August 2016, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra will visit all 28 member states of the European Union in the course of two and a half seasons as part of the RCO meets Europe concert tour. In repertoire, in spirit and in practice this tour will serve to highlight the fundamental ideas and ideals that can hold Europe together.
Patron of RCO meets Europe is Mr. Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission.
In each country, the orchestra will perform one opening work side by side with a local youth orchestra. In addition, members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra will give masterclasses and lessons. This will enable the orchestra to share its knowledge and experience with younger musicians, and to engage in lasting collaborations with youth orchestras across Europe.
