To expand the boundaries: For Thanos Mikroutsikos, this is the definition of the avant-garde. A restless and gifted spirit and a composer who wrote music of a compelling emotional range, Mikroutsikos had been expressing his improvisational inclinations in his songs already since the 1970s. Artists who worked closely with him and followed him in this journey at various times, approach the composer’s music in a way that he would like. With a contemporary approach which also takes on board his tendency for modern improvisation, they give voice to his melodies and interact with them. Christos Thivaios sings Kavvadias (Alladin’s Lamp, A Knife, William George Allum etc.), Brecht, Tripolitis (Boom, My Love is a mournful Blues), Cavafy, Eleftheriou (Hamlet).
