If the Cossacks are considered an important chapter in the history of Russia, since they used to be the country’s border guards since the 14th century, then their dances are certainly an integral part of Russia’s artistic tradition. The Cossacks’ performances, reflecting their independence, pride and bravery, shed light to those people’s mentality and history.
The program depicts the life of the Cossacks-a cultural heritage of many regions in Russia: from the Don River and the Black Sea to Siberia and the Far East. A program with more than 20 dances, 50 songs and 10 solo musical compositions including the famous “Kalinka”.
